PICK UP POLICIES

PICK UP POLICIES

CHILD AUTHORIZED DROP OFF & PICK UP POLICIES

As per licensing regulations - Children enrolled will only be accepted in the presence of an Educator.  The child(ren) will be released to parents, legal guardians or authorized persons ONLY, OVER the age of 19 years old.

The Centre must have written consent by the Parent/Guardian, of the person(s) who are authorized to pick up the child(ren) from the Centre or when on Field Trips.  I will be calling any and all Parents/Guardians when an unfamiliar person comes to the Centre to pick up the child(ren) and they will be asked for picture identification prior to the release.  If possible, please provide the Centre with a picture of the persons authorized to pick child(ren) up.

It is the Caregivers responsibility, to the extent that it is possible NOT to release a child(ren) to an authorized person.  If the Caregiver feels that the authorized person is unable to adequately care and or transport the child or if the Caregiver believes that a child will be at risk, the Caregiver will call an alternate contact for pick up.

If the Caregiver believes the Parent/Guardian is under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and is driving, the Caregiver will explain that driving while under the influence is against the law and that the Caregiver is obligated to ensure the safety and well-being of the child.  The Caregiver may call a cab at the expense of the Parent/Guardian and will NOT release the child to that person.  The Caregiver will then call an authorized alternate contact person to pick up the child.  If the presumed impaired person chooses to get in the care, the Caregiver will immediately notify the police and provide a description of the car, it's geographic vicinity and license plate.

If the Caregiver believes that the child is in need of protection, the Caregiver will call the Ministry for Children and Family Services.

Please remember my first obligation is to the safety and wefare of your child(ren).
